N2 - At present, large-scale equipment, such as engine, usually have the characteristics of complex structure and compact layout, which easily lead to narrow maintenance space and difficult maintenance activities. Using virtual maintenance technology in the early stage of product design can simulate maintenance activities in virtual environment and find design problems in advance. At present, in the engineering applications, designers firstly need to make simulation animation in the virtual environment. Secondly, they need to verify the maintainability by the key frames in above simulation animation. However, this method has two problems: time-consuming and human resource dependent. Therefore, this paper proposes to a fast visualization verification method of maintainability by using parametric model. This method first induces the qualitative criteria of maintainability and summarizes them into parametric indicators. This method second establishes parametric models by using the above indicators. Finally, this method achieves the static simulation by importing models and observing the collision relationships. In conclusion, on the premise of ensuring the effectiveness of the results, this method is simpler and faster than the dynamic simulation method.
