Abstract

Multiphase degradation products show a varies degradation phases due to complex failure mechanisms. Two-phase degradation modelling approach has been studied recently. However, the switching process of failure mechanisms between different phases is still worth of investigation. Use change process to describe the gradual change of failure mechanisms. To describe the change process between various phases, a two-phase degradation model is proposed assuming that the failure mechanism is time linearly changing in change process. Simulation study is conducted to verify the reliability assessment and discuss the differences between two-phase degradation model with change point and two-phase degradation model with change process.
