abstract = "Detection techniques of micro-motion targets have been explored with increasing attention according to its complex and flexible features. In this paper, concepts and existing achievements of micro-motion and micro-Doppler are summarized horizontally from two aspects: micro-motion analysis foundation and techniques, strategies and implement. Addressing this goal, a general micro-Doppler formula is introduced with four typical micro-motion forms. Moreover, several extraction and imaging methods are demonstrated from four perspectives, i.e. radar quantity, micro-motion complexity, other strategies and potential problems. Subsequently, available application on ballistic target recognition and critical issues of this emerging field are proposed, with a prospect towards the trend of development.",
