Abstract

The air cargo industry has grown rapidly in china recently. A simulation model is developed by use of the software eM-Plant™ to study the logistics activities of the international cargo terminal. Besides the description of the model structure and main modules, issues about model validation and analysis for inputs and outputs are also covered. The simulation model is used to analyze the bottleneck resources in the air cargo operations and evaluate the efficiency of the existing strategy for resource allocation. Improvement suggestions have been proposed for resource allocation based on the analysis of different scenarios.
