Abstract

A setup for high-resolution isotope shift measurements on unstable lithium isotopes was presented. A laser spectroscopic approach for measuring the charge radius of the halo nucleus was discussed. Saturation spectroscopy of the hot-band iodine transition chosen as a frequency reference point was performed and its suitability for frequency locking of the reference laser was demonstrated.
