Abstract
This paper proposes a scheme of designing an apparatus of digital certificate to replace the traditional digital certificate based on password. The apparatus uses the fingerprint identification technique to validate the user and enhance the security of the digital certificate. The safe microprocessor and SRAM in the apparatus prevent the digital certificate from being duplicated. In addition, the software/hardware cryptography and interaction with external computers through the USB interface make the digital certificate more secure than traditional digital certificate techniques based on password.
