Abstract

The types, mechanisms, research methods and influence factors of corrosion and cracking of metals in wet hydrogen sulfide were summarized in the paper. The definition of wet hydrogen sulfide was also discussed. Further researches were proposed as follows: understanding corrosion mechanisms in wet hydrogen sulfide, corrosion and cracking in high temperature and high pressure hydrogen sulfide and the relations between anodic SCC and HIC; developing methods for detecting H 2S induced corrosion damage of facilities in wet hydrogen sulfide and the relevant industrial standards; carrying out works on lifetime prediction and safety evaluation and establishing test techniques to simulate sulfide hydrogen corrosion indoor.
