Abstract

The oil–gas transportation in deep-sea transportation system is essentially a high-pressure and high void fraction gas– liquid two-phase flow. Currently, it is popular to investigate such problems by using Eulerian–Eulerian method. However, the accuracy of this method depends on the construction and selection of the interfacial force model and the sub-models of population balance model. Therefore, in this paper, the existing classic interfacial force models, including drag force, lift force, wall lubrication force, turbulent diffusion force and virtual mass force, are summarized, the related theory and development of such models are elaborated, and also some correction methods considering the pressurized high-void-fraction environment are reviewed. In addition, the population balance model is introduced which considers the bubble-bubble interaction by including coalescence/breakup kernel functions. In order to provide guidance for the simulation of gas-liquid flow in pressurized high-void-fraction environment, the models of bubble breakup and coalescence are reviewed, and the correction methods of the group balance model under high pressure are summarized.
