Abstract

In this paper, we present a novel ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with the reconfigurable notch band. The proposed antenna consists of an elliptical-shaped patch, a 50-Ohm CPW feed line, and a tapered ground plane. To obtain reconfigurable notch band, the ring-shaped slot structure with several switches is added into the patch. Effect of several antenna design parameters on the input and radiation performance is discussed in detail. As an example, the two-notch-band UWB antenna (3.3GHz∼3.6GHz, 5.15GHz∼5.825GHz) is fabricated and measured by using zero-Ohm resistor.
