Abstract
Passive bistatic radar, with its unique bistatic configuration, is widely used for target detection and tracking. However, challenges such as range ambiguity and Doppler ambiguity are inevitable in long-range and high-speed target detection. To address these challenges, time-division multiple pulse repetition frequency (TD-multi-PRF) transmissions can be utilized to enhance detection efficiency. For the range and Doppler ambiguity issues in constant velocity (CV) moving targets under TD-multi-PRF passive bistatic radar, a novel algorithm is proposed to simultaneously resolve range ambiguity and Doppler ambiguity. The algorithm performs Doppler expansion of the coherent integration within a sub-block and then performs parameter search for inter-sub-block coherent integration to get the target true Doppler. The target true range is obtained by an improved one-dimensional clustering (1DC) algorithm and using the minimum gradient search method to quickly resolve the distance ambiguity. The proposed algorithm is validated through target detection experiment.
