Abstract
We propose a non perturbative definition of two-dimensional quantum gravity. Our definition is based on stochastic quantization, and the well behaving operators of the theory satisfy the usual Dyson-Schwinger equations. We also discuss other definitions which differ by exponentially small terms; in this case non perturbatice corrections appear in the Dyson-Schwinger equations. The generalizations of such a construction to theories with matter is briefly discussed.
