abstract = "It is very important to accurately detect rotor position and speed in brushless direct current motor (BLDCM). Aiming at BLDCM which drives the magnetic suspended reaction flywheel (MSRFW), a novel scheme to estimate the low speed of the BLDCM based on Hall sensors and Kalmam fliter is presented. The average speed over the previous sector is achieved according to the outputs of the three hall sensors, then rotor position of the next sector is computed at the sampling time. The electrical angle calculated can be used to estimate the transient speed with Kalman filter equation. Simulation and experiment show that the proposed method is valid.",
