Abstract

The appearance of Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) makes vehicle active safety technologies develop quickly, and collision warning system (CWS) can warn drivers of an impending collision event in advance, then the accident will be avoided. Firstly, paper carries on the analysis of common parameters in CWS, and reviews measurement methods of distance and relative velocity. Secondly, owing to sensor's inherent performance limit, an alternative distance and relative velocity measurement method based on A/D conversion is presented. At last, paper verifies the method using simulation data, result shows that parameters measuring resolution is improved obviously, It can provide data assurance for CWS warning accurately.
