Abstract

In this paper, a new method for chattering alleviation of a variable structure control (VSC) system based on vibrational control theory is proposed. A continuous APAZ signal is introduced into the controller; then the nonlinear relay function in the VSC system can be smoothed and 'chattering' can be alleviated. Meanwhile, the dynamic and steady properties are not affected by introducing the APAZ signal into such a VSC system.
