Abstract

With the globalization of the IC design flow, ICs are exposed to malicious inclusion referred to as Hardware Trojans (HT) which are known great threat for many application such as military systems, financial infrastructures. Hardware Trojan detection has emerged as an important research domain. In this paper, we propose an integrated new system to detect HT, which is composed of an innovative detection circuit named concurrent ring oscillator network (CRON) based on ring oscillator network (RON), data analysis program, target circuit, and other auxiliary circuits. We implement the system on FPGA and the scenario is simulated when the circuit is attacked by active HT. We find the suitable data analysis approach with machine learning method and the results demonstrate that our system can detect Trojan which is activated from sleep state and give the target circuit enough safety guarantee with 98% detection rate.
