A new approach for background clutter extraction in radar cross section measurement

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

A new approach is developed for target derived background clutter extraction and reduction, which deploys the fact that in many indoor and outdoor range tests, while the aspect variant scattering signatures are measured, the background clutter of the test range does not change as the target aspect varies. Detailed mathematics is formulated. Signal processing procedure for background clutter extraction from an ancillary test body (including target under test) measurements is proposed with demonstrative examples.
