A Multipurpose Calibrator in Radar Cross Section Measurement

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Multiple calibration is an important way for uncertainty assurance in radar cross section (RCS) measurement. In this work, based on Wood's CAM design, a multipurpose calibrator called ECAM is proposed, where an ellipsoidal surface is added to the hull of CAM. ECAM can offer three 'exact' RCS values through simple azimuth rotation, which are invariant of or linearly proportional to frequency with adequate RCS levels. Numerical analysis is performed on data calculated using the method of moments (MoM) to demonstrate the usefulness of ECAM.
