Abstract

The configuration of the truncated-corners square patch antenna with a single feed is simple and easy to fabricate. Therefore, it has been applied broadly in GPS antennas. However, this kind of configuration has narrow axial ratio bandwidth, poor performance of circular polarization (CP) operation for low-elevation angles, This paper describes the method to improve the quality of the circular polarized axial ratio of the stacked antenna. Details of the proposed antenna design are described, and experimental results for the CP performance are presented.
