Abstract
Modern radar systems face increasingly sophisticated electronic countermeasures, particularly from advanced jamming techniques that can severely degrade detection and tracking performance. This paper introduces a Generalized Ambiguity Function (GAF) for evaluating radar waveform performance against Interrupted-Sampling Repeater Jamming (ISRJ). Traditional AFs are limited to range-Doppler analysis and assume matched filtering, making them inadequate for assessing anti-jamming capabilities against ISRJ. Our proposed GAF extends conventional AF analysis by incorporating anti-jamming processing methods directly into the evaluation framework. By abstracting matched filtering and specialized anti-jamming techniques as generalized operators acting on received signals, this approach enables quantitative characterization of radar system performance under ISRJ scenarios. Unlike existing methods that separately address waveform design and signal processing, our GAF considers these inseparable aspects jointly. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed GAF in evaluating anti-jamming performance across various scenarios, demonstrating its practical utility for radar system design and optimization.
