Abstract

A ±45° dual-polarized base station antenna is designed for commercial 5G bands in China. First, two pairs of eccentric-circle loops are designed to realize dual-polarized radiation for 3.3-5 GHz band, which are excited by two Y-shaped coupling structures with two shorting pins. Further, by introducing four vertical deployed cylindrical metal stubs, an additional band of 2.52-2.67 GHz is obtained, without increasing the aperture size. The finalized antenna covers dual bands of 2.522.67 GHz and 3.4-5 GHz in terms of |S11| <-10 dB, within which the gain is greater than 6.5 dBi and 8 dBi respectively.
