Abstract
A droplet ignition model is proposed using Frank-Kamenetsky's approximation for treating the nonlinear reaction term. The result gives the droplet ignition limits as functions of the gas relative velocity, droplet size and ambient gas temperature. It is in agreement with the experimental observation. The proposed model can be incorporated into the numerical modeling of multimode spray combustion.
