3-D Viscoelastic random analysis of grain for solid rocket motor

Abstract

Solid rocket motor grain always consists of high polymer composites. The measurement of characteristic of its material has some uncertainty. In order to discuss the influence of material's uncertainty, with local averaging to discretize the random field, increment type 3-D stochastic viscoelastic finite element equation is deduced and described in this paper. Stochastic analysis of characteristic parameters of 3-D grain also is involved. And the degree of influence of every random variable has been discussed. It is found that Poisson ratio plays a main role in affect of material characteristics. The results of analysis provide reference for grain design, and establish the foundation for structure integrity analysis. Copyright IAF/IAA. All rights reserved.
