Abstract

In this paper designs a Gaussian feed operating at 220 GHz, namely a conical corrugated horn. At 220 GHz, it meets the requirement of a standing wave ratio of less than 1.1, possesses a gain of 21.6 dB, has a normalized side lobe level of 36.4 dB, and shows good equalization properties in both the E and H planes. The phase center is located at 10.9 mm, and the Gaussian beam waist width is 2.05 mm (approximately 1.5 λ). Meanwhile, an ellipsoidal reflector operating within this frequency band is designed for the designed Gaussian feed. The simulation convergence effect is excellent and conforms to the Gaussian beam conversion theory. The system can be employed to measure the far-field scattering characteristics in the near-field region.
