Abstract

Silver nanowire (Ag NW)@TiO2 core-shell composite structure photocatalysts with different loading ratios were prepared by a hydrothermal method. The organic dye Rhodamine B (RhB) was used as a target degradation product to evaluate its visible light catalytic activity. The results show that the calcined core-shell structure is still Ag NWs and TiO2 crystals. The core-shell structure reduces the bandgap of TiO2 and can achieve its excitation in the visible range. When a molar ratio of TiO2 to Ag NW is 84%, the maximum photocatalytic activity can be obtained, and the degradation rate of RhB can reach 82.2%. The main active oxide in the degradation is superoxide radical. The structure has a good stability without oxidation or phase transition after more than 263 d of storage.
