Abstract
A single-stage supercritical helium centrifugal compressor including a centrifugal impeller, diffuser and reflux device was designed, and the three-dimensional numerical simulation analysis for design results was carried out by numerical simulation methods. By means of the analyses for general characteristics, blade surface pressure distribution, spanwise parameter distribution and three-dimensional flow field, the typical complex flow characteristics of each component in the high-load supercritical helium centrifugal compressor. The results show that the single-stage supercritical helium centrifugal compressor has lower pressure ratio compared with the conventional working fluid. However, the load of impeller and diffuser and the stage efficiency are higher. And the overall flow of supercritical helium is subsonic flow, the ultrasound zone appears only at the blade leading edge.
