Abstract

In this study, wind tunnel was applied to provide polar environment, a shear ice adhesion strength test system was used to investigate influences of freezing time, freezing contact area on the characteristics of dynamic ice adhesion strength under polar temperature environment. The test results show that the dynamic shear icing adhesion strength increases with freezing time, and dynamic icing, compared with static icing, can produce adhesion strength at the interface in a shorter time. The dynamic shear icing adhesion strength enhances with ambient temperature decreasing, and gradually weakens after reaching the critical temperature. The dynamic shear icing adhesion strength linearly decreased with increasing in ice area.
