Abstract
Magnetic field is not only an important factor to evaluate performance level and work characteristics of spaceborne hall thruster, but also acts as an important degree of freedom for its optimization design. Aiming at the application requirement of attitude control of spacecraft for hall thruster, key factors affecting magnetic field configuration of permanent-magnet hall thruster is analyzed. Based on it, by using the equivalent magnetic circuit method and the finite element discretization form, the magnetic field model of hall thruster based on permanent-magnet is established. Then the effectivness and feasibility of the simulation method is validated by comparing with data of foreign similar product. Then the magnetic circuit configuration of hall thruster and its structure parameters of the permanent magnet as well as the permanent-magnet hall thruster prototype which meet the design requirements are obtained. The simulation and experimental results of hall thruster magnetic field are compared and the performances of permanent-magnet hall thruster are tested. Results showed that the experimental results were in basically agreement with the requirement under the rated condition of gas and energy supply and the anode current of the thruster is basically in line with the design requirements. The thrust and specific impulse has reached 3.52mN and 685s, respectively. The design goal of the permanent magnet hall thruster is well realized.
