Abstract

The key to the large-scale application of 5G industrial control systems is to ensure its high availability. However, through experimental evaluation, the cost is high and there are many difficulties. Existing availability modeling methods rarely consider the impact of 5G on availability. Taking an actual 5G rotating steel system as an example, a deterministic stochastic Petri net (DSPN) is used to formalize the dynamic faults and maintenance process of the industrial control system after 5G technology transformation from a business process perspective, and to evaluate the impact of different failure models on the system's application availability. In the case study, the impact of different parameters on system application availability in the 5G industrial control system is analyzed, and it is found that the mean time between failures (MTBF) of wireless links has the greatest impact on system application availability. The experiment results indicate that the proposed method can be used to evaluate the application availability of 5G industrial control systems, providing" reference for system designers.
