Abstract
In response to the current miniaturization needs of high-precision fiber-optic gyroscopes, the fiber optic coil multiplexing technology for fiber optic gyroscopes based on multi-core optical fibers was proposed for the first time in China. Through the special coupling method, the round-trip transmission of light in the multi-core optical fiber can increase the effective length of the fiber coil, thereby improving the measurement accuracy of the fiber-optic gyroscope without increasing the size of the fiber coil. Firstly, the optical path scheme is designed, and the optical coupling mode and polarization noise suppression are analyzed. Then, taking six-core optical fiber as an example, a practical optical path scheme for 0.001°/h level fiber-optic gyroscope is proposed. It can be known from theoretical derivation that, under the same size, the gyroscope based on multi-core fiber multiplexing is more efficient than ordinary fiber optic gyroscope. The accuracy can be increased by 6 times, so the use of multi-core fiber optic coil in fiber optic gyroscopes can realize the miniaturization of high-precision fiber optic gyroscopes.
