Abstract
The direction estimation of coherent signals on uniform circular array (UCA) has always been an important topic in the array signal processing, and the resolution of existing algorithms can be further improved. A decoherence algorithm based on the central symmetry of UCA is proposed to solve this problem. First, the UCA equivalent to a virtual uniform linear array is obtained using the mode space transformation. Then, the mode space data are averaged by utilizing the central symmetry of UCA. Finally, the correlation function of the data is calculated, and the result is used to reconstruct a Hermitian Toeplitz matrix, realizing the direction estimation of coherent signals. The proposed method is simple and features a higher precision than the conventional algorithms. Simulations prove the effectiveness and superior performance of the proposed algorithm.
