Abstract

Two-dimensional materials have received rising attention in recent years, because of their simple structure and special physical and chemical properties. Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), which belongs to the family of two-dimensional (2D) materials, has semiconductor or metal properties at the limit of atomic thickness. Some unique properties, such assuperconductivity, charge density wave and magnetism, will appear or change with the reduction of thickness. Among TMDs, the group VB transition metal dichalcogenides gradually enter scientists' vision due to their versatile phases and physical properties. This paper summarized the research results of two-dimensional group VB transition metal dichalcogenides in recent years, mainly focusing on the fabrication methods and physical properties (such as charge density wave, superconductivity, magnetic, etc.). The fabrication method mainly adopted mechanical exfoliation, molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), etc. Physical properties were characterized by scanning tunneling microscope, Raman spectroscopy and electrical device. Finally, it could give some guidance to the future research direction and application prospects.
