Abstract
Effect of solution treatment, rolling, and recrystallization annealing on microstructure and electrochemical properties of Al-0. 5Mg-0. 08Sn-0. 1Ga-0. 05In alloy was studied. The results show that the as cast alloy is mainly composed of irregular equiaxed grains, with an average grain size of 607. 4 μm. After solution treatment, the average grain size of the alloy increases and the number of second phases decreases significantly. After rolling, the grain size of the alloy is elongated, the average grain size is reduced to 372. 4 μm, the second phase is refined, and the distribution of alloy elements is more uniform. After recrystallization annealing at 350 ℃, the average grain size of the alloy decreases from 372. 4 μm in the rolled state to 41. 6 μm. As the recrystallization annealing temperature increases from 350 ℃ to 550 ℃, the grain size increases to 899. 6 μm, the second phase re-aggregates, grows and distributes at the grain boundaries, and the hydrogen evolution rate and self corrosion rate of the alloy decrease. After rolling, the self corrosion rate of the alloy decreases from 1. 176 mg·cm-2·min-1 in the as cast state to 0. 883 mg·cm-2·min-1, and the hydrogen evolution rate decreases from 0. 221 mL·cm-2·min-1 in the as cast state to 0. 185 mL·cm-2·min-1. Compared with the solution treated and annealed alloy, the rolled alloy has a lower self corrosion rate and better discharge performance, at a current density of 40 mA·cm-2, the energy density reaches 3230. 61 Wh·kg-1, and the anode utilization efficiency is as high as 90. 71%.
