Abstract

γ rays emitted in the two E2 transitions (5/2+ → 1/2+ and 3/2+ → 1/2+) of 9ΛBe were separately observed with a germanium detector array (Hyperball). The energy difference of these two transitions was measured to be 31±2 keV, which suggests a very small ΛN spin-orbit force.
